It is time for us to recognize our athletes for all of their hard work! Our annual athletic banquet will be held on Thursday, May 2nd. We will begin serving jambalaya at 5:30 PM, and the awards ceremony will begin at 6:00 PM. Athletes will be given a plate of jambalaya/water. Additional plates for parents/family will cost $7 and can be purchased online or at the door. Athletes should dress in Sunday best (no athletic wear or shorts). LEAP Testing starts next week! WFMS will be hosting a LEAP TEST PEP RALLY at the end of the day on Friday. Our theme is MINDSET MATTERS: TIME TO SHINE! We encourage students to wear uniform bottoms and their grade-level T-shirts or a top with their grade level colors: 6th-green, 7th-red, 8th-purple. Students can also wear shades 😎

Congratulations to our Talented Theater students for their excellent performance at the Junior Thespian State Convention. Amirie Reed received a superior in Monologues, and Gage Gunnels & Levi Pirie received a superior in duet acting. Superior ratings qualified students to attend the international thespian festival this summer.

70 WFMS 6th, 7th, and 8th graders attended Youth Legislature, a mock legislative session, at the Old State Capitol this week. Students ran for office, presented, and debated bills. Congratulations to 8th grader Quinn Levasseur who was elected as Governor of the session, and 8th grader Rylie Williams who was elected Speaker of the House.
