
6th graders got a surprise at lunch today when Ms. LeeAnn Guidry's choir class broke out into a FLASH MOB!



The LSU Ag Center partnered with 4-H to bring WETLANDS DAY for our 7th grade students today. Students participated in several activities designed to improve students' environmental awareness of Louisiana's coast.





Students can wear green tops with jeans or uniform bottoms for $1 on Saint Patrick's Day, March 17th 🍀 We will also be hosting a school-wide dance in our gym at the end of the school day as a reward for students with good behavior and good attendance. The GaP will be selling concessions for $1 per item during the dance.


WFMS had a visit from the stars today when our very own HAYLEY ARCENEAUX dropped in to talk to students about her trip to space as part of SpaceX’s first private space flight, Inspiration4 💫 She encouraged students to never give up on their dreams because with hard work, our dream really can come true!





We are SO PROUD of our Louisiana Teen Library Association members! More than a dozen of our CLUB READ students were recognized with awards. A special congratulations goes to Ellie Grimsley who was inducted in as the 2023-2024 LTLA State Secretary 📚 💙

The WFMS pSaints Baseball team defeated Central Private tonight in a showdown at the park 💙⚾️





Jared Lane, a member of LSU's Young Entrepreneur Academy, presented to students in Ms. Patton's 7th grade General Technology class today. As the creator of his own business, HealthyLife, Jared shared advice on how students might pursue their passion and achieve their goals.

WFMS: 8th Grade girls interested in trying out for the WFHS Varsity Cheerleading Team can sign up during health class tomorrow! Girls will sign up and pick up the tryout packet tomorrow as well. There is a MANDATORY parent meeting Tuesday, February 28th at 5:30 at the WFHS GYM. Cheer Material will be released after the Parent Meeting on the West Feliciana Schools website. Cheer Clinic will take place Wednesday, March 1st and Thursday, March 2nd. Tryouts will take place Friday, March 3rd, during school hours. Please check the Cheer Packet for more info!

Our 8th graders made a positive impact on our environment by planting trees at the Bonnet Carre Spillway today as part of an ongoing study about Louisiana’s coastal wetlands. They also had the opportunity to visit a state of the art model of the lower Mississippi Delta at the LSU Center for River Studies. Go West Fel 💙 Go green 💚





WFMS: There will be no GIRLS TRACK practice today. They will start practice on Monday, 2/27. Everyone who made the team needs to be in attendance. Runners should be picked up at the stadium at 4:30.

It was a day full of Mardi Gras traditions at WFMS, both old and new 💜💚💛 Congratulations goes to our Mardi Gras King, Nathan Daniel, and our Queen, Eliana Grimsley, both of whom at the most AR points in the school! We also want to recognize our school-wide Spelling Bee winner, Anabelle Pilcher 🐝

Volunteers from the Friends of Cat Island visited the WFMS campus today. The volunteers worked along middle school students to plant over 50 trees in several native varieties. These trees will mature at the middle school and next year the students and volunteers will transplant these trees to the Cat Island National Wildlife Refuge. 🌱





WFMS: Due to weather, there has been a change to 8th GIRLS TRACK TRYOUTS. 8th grade will now tryout together with 7th grade tomorrow (Wednesday, Feb 15).
