WFMS recognized all our SPORTS STARS ⭐️ this week at a special ATHLETIC BANQUET. Thank you to all the coaches who give so much of their time to mentor and and coach our student athletes.
Our 8th grade students made us proud during their DAY OF SERVICE. After drafting project proposals, our students gave back to their community today by volunteering to care for animals in the shelter, to sort clothes at the clothes closet, to organize food at the food bank, to perform for the elderly at the nursing home, and to read to children at Bains Lower in addition to other community projects.
📝 Notes about WFMS SPIRIT DAY on Thurs, May 10th:
-Students will report to their ROAR classes at the beginning of the day (7:25 AM).
-You may want to bring a chair, hat, sunscreen, and shades.
-Money for concessions and snacks.
-We will be selling pizza for $2 per slice.
-Free dress rules apply as outlined in the school handbook. Shirts must have a sleeve. Shorts must be no more than 4 inches above the back of the knee.

WFHS will host VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS 🏐 on May 7 (3-4:30 PM) and May 8 - 9 (3-5:00 PM). 8th grade girls are eligible to try out for the team. Meet at parent pick-up after school.
The WFMS Baseball Team is named 2018 Westside Baseball League Champs!! ⚾️ 🏆 🎉
Ms. Cierra Fountain and 5 WFMS students competed in the West Feliciana Parish Lip Sync Battle this weekend and took home the title! They performed to "Finesse" by Brunk Mars and Cardi B 🤩
The WFMS Athletic Awards Banquet will be held on May 7, 2018, at the Bains Gym. The jambalaya dinner will begin at 5:30 PM. Jambalaya plates are $5 per person; however, athletes do not pay for their dinner. The awards ceremony will begin at 6:00 PM. Athletes will receive a medal for each sport in which they participated.

Students in Ms. Dyer’s SOAR class built solar ovens today with cardboard, aluminum foil and plastic wrap. What do you cook in a solar oven, you ask? NACHOS, of course 😄

WFMS students are ready to ROCK the LEAP exam!! Testing will take place April 23-30, 2018.
WFMS will be participating in state LEAP 2025 testing Monday, April 23 through Monday, April 30, 2018. As a parent, you can help support our students and make sure they are ready for succcess by ensuring they have a restful night's sleep, have eaten a nutritious breakfast either at home or at school, and are on time for school. Our students and our teachers have been preparing for this moment all year. WE ARE GOING TO ROCK THIS!!
